Ericsson has announced that it’s collaborating with Telia and Sahlgrenska University Hospital to build insight models for planning and predicting the demands on the hospital so it can be better prepared for patients. The research project, which began in September, uses advanced analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) models in combination with healthcare information to help the hospital decide which resources it will need.
While real data from Telia Crowd Insights is being used, it has been anonymised and aggregated so that people’s identities cannot be worked out. Giving hospitals the ability to predict what resources will be needed at certain times of the day should help them better cope with the demand for their services from patients with the deadly coronavirus.
