Safe Influx announces successful rig trial of integrated Weatherford MPD and Safe Influx Automated Well Control technologies

Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) and
Automated Well Control technology has been completed. Following months of preparation by Weatherford, Safe Influx and Finesse Control Systems (who build the Safe Influx equipment and develop the logic programming), a series of pre-agreed tests were successfully performed on Weatherford’s test rig in Houston, to demonstrate and verify the integration and functionality of both systems.
The combination of Weatherford Victus™ intelligent MPD and Safe Influx Automated Well Control systems provides automated secondary well control which will allow wells to be drilled and constructed with the highest level of efficiency and integrity.

HOUSTON, Feb. 17, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Weatherford International plc (OTC Pink: WFTLF) ( Weatherford or the Company ) announced today its results for the fourth quarter and full-year 2020.
Revenues for the fourth quarter of 2020 were $842 million, compared to revenue of $985 million and $261 million in the Predecessor and Successor periods of the fourth quarter of 2019, respectively. Reported operating loss was $107 million in the fourth quarter of 2020, compared to an operating loss of $316 million and operating income of $1 million in the Predecessor and Successor periods of the fourth quarter of 2019, respectively. The Company s fourth-quarter 2020 net loss was $200 million, compared to net income of $5.3 billion and a net loss of $26 million in the Predecessor and Successor periods of the fourth quarter of 2019, respectively. Maersk Drilling secures one-well extension for low-emission rig with EquinorEquinor Energy AS has exercised the option to add development drilling of one additional well at the Martin Linge field offshore Norway to the work scope of the low-emission rig Maersk Intrepid. The contract has an estimated duration of 80 days, with work expected to commence in September 2021 in direct continuation of the rigs current work scope.
