Boys & Girls Club Raises More Than $115,000 At Virtual Action
The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri’s 31st annual virtual Evening of Heart & Hope, presented by The W-K Family of Dealerships, raised more than $115,000 for local children, including more than $12,000 in Whatever It Takes Scholarship funds, thanks to generous support from the Sedalia area community.
“Our 31st annual Evening of Heart & Hope was historical; never before have we held a virtual event and our community stepped up in a big way,” said Executive Director Gary Beckman. “As our supporters have done throughout the pandemic, once again they were not shy in doing Whatever It Takes for our kiddos.”
Boys & Girls Club Board To Host Virtual Auction Next Week
The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri’s 31st annual Evening of Heart & Hope, presented by The W-K Family of Dealerships is going virtual this year, giving even more supporters of the Club a chance to bid on items and donate to a great cause.
“It was a very tough decision for our Board of Directors to make. We were hoping to have an in-person auction this year, but they realized the health and safety of our supporters was more important,” said Executive Director Gary Beckman. “The benefit of a virtual auction, however, is that even more people can bid on items from the comfort of their couch using our easy mobile bidding system.”

Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center reaches new milestone ×
Since opening last month the Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center has now administered 94 percent of the vaccines it has received, well above the state’s recommended 60 percent threshold.
On Friday, Jan. 15, it began offering vaccinations to seniors and residents with underlying health conditions.
“Over the past three weeks, the Hudson County Vaccine Task Force has been working around the clock to administer COVID-19 vaccines to our healthcare workers and first responders,” said Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise. “Because of the dedication and commitment of our frontline heroes, our county-operated vaccination center is surpassing all state goals. We will continue to expand our operations to ensure that every Hudson County resident has access to this lifesaving vaccine when they become eligible.”
