Fakhar Imam stresses need to promote climate smart agriculture, water conservation
ISLAMABAD (APP):Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam on Thursday stressed the need for promoting climate resilient and water smart agriculture in addition with water conservation to avert climate change challenges in the country.
Addressing a seminar, the minister said that Pakistan was one of the least contributors to global greenhouse gas emissions causing climate change yet worst affected by their underlying impacts due to its higher vulnerability caused by geographical location.
EU urged to play a role on Kashmir

Islamabad : Renowned British historian Prof Ian Talbot urged the Government of Pakistan to explore its relations with the European Union for facilitating a dialogue with India on Kashmir.
Prof Talbot was speaking at a webinar organised by Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) here Wednesday.
Prof Talbot, however, said that any external actor could only facilitate a dialogue process for which there was a will on both sides. He was of the view that the EU could no longer pass on the responsibility related to issues like Kashmir to Great Britain and British external influence which had diminished since Brexit.

‘Afghanistan’s inclusion in CPEC will be welcoming development’

ISLAMABAD: Director Chinese Study Centre, National University of Science & Technology Syed Hassan Javed has said that inclusion of Afghanistan’s into CPEC would be a welcoming development since China will serve as the stabilising factor in Afghanistan.
Javed was speaking at a webinar on “Regional integration and CPEC: the case of Gwadar Port” organised by Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) here Monday.
Javed shrugged off the impression that Chabahar and Gwadar, Dubai, and Dammam were the strategic rivals. He was of the view that those ports were complimentary to CPEC, which he called the “sister ports of CPEC.” He said that Pakistan needs to work on greater integration of locals, private sectors as well as overseas Pakistanis into the CPEC projects. He stressed the need to adopt an innovative approach for the second phase of CPEC to untap huge multi-sectoral potentials between the two
