CVs should be 100 per cent error-free. [Standard]
Just completed college and wondering where to start when it comes to writing your CV?
Thinking about writing your CV is a good place to start. Your CV is the first chance you get to make an impression with a prospective employer. It will boost your chances of getting an interview for a job. A good CV should be simple but detailed, stating your skills, experiences and values. The following components should be included in your CV:
Personal profile
This is the introduction that informs a potential employer who you are, what you stand for, what your main attributes are and your key characteristics as relates to the position you are interested in. Your name should be the first thing in your CV as it appears in your ID. This should be followed by your professional job title for example, ‘Graphic Designer’. Clearly state your valid phone number, email address and your location.
Fable: The Invention Which Boggled Minds
There was once an invention so startling that the glitterati of the scientific world dismissed it out of hand.
A UK Parliamentary Committee investigating the invention in 1878 reported that it was “…good enough for our transatlantic friends… but unworthy of the attention of practical or scientific men”.
Sir William Siemens, the first president of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, said “such startling announcements as these should be deprecated as being unworthy of science and mischievous to its true progress”.
It turned out to be one of the greatest inventions of all time – used by everyone on the planet.

2021 JAN 29 (NewsRx) By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Middle East Daily Current study results on Electrical Transmission and Distribution have been published. According to news reporting from Ahvaz, Iran, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “Network reconfiguration (NR) has undergone new changes to adapt to smart grid evolution. Internet of things (IoT) has found its way to smart grids especially in the distribution systems.”
The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Shahid Chamran University Ahvaz, “Demand-side management can be more efficient in the presence of IoT. IoT-based energy management systems can have bidirectional communication with smart grids and decide according to their preferences, time-of-use (TOU) pricing, and their flexible devices. Therefore, customers would consume electricity more interactively. Consequently, the total load profile will be changed and a new NR approach must be adopted to
The Birth Of The IET
15 years ago there was a move to amalgamate the IEE and IIE and Sir Robin Saxby started the process in 2005 – the year before he took over as President of the IEE in 2006. He spoke to EW in September 2005.
A call for all members to vote on the merger of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) has come from Sir Robin Saxby, who takes over as president of the IEE next year.
"We want all the members to vote,” Saxby told EW. “Today’s professional engineers need a broader perspective than the engineers of 20 years ago. They need to know about software, they need to know about the convergence of biotechnology and microelectronics, and they need to take a global view.”
