In Pakistan, little is known about one of the smallest countries in the world, yet one of prime importance, especially when it comes to leading aid engagement in the Gulf and mediating regional disputes.
The State of Kuwait is a high-income, city-state emirate which, with the discovery of oil, went through a transformational urban boom from a small seafaring town to a modern-day municipality in less than half a century. Its pluralistic domestic political environment, coupled with an active parliament which holds genuine power (protected by its 1962 Constitution), provided the country greater space to sustain its independent foreign policy stance and multilateralism abroad. Much of this is also attributed to the vision of the late Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Sabah, who preferred diplomacy to belligerence in Kuwait’s bilateral engagements notwithstanding

The establishment of the forum follows Prime Minister Imran Khan’s policy to improve Pakistan’s economic and strategic ties with all Arab countries. In October, the government founded a study center specialized in the Middle East at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is setting up a Pakistan-Arab federation to strengthen Islamabad’s relations with Arab states, the Pakistani prime minister’s special adviser on religious harmony and the Middle East said on Sunday.
The establishment of the forum follows Prime Minister Imran Khan’s policy to improve Pakistan’s economic and strategic ties with all Arab countries. In October, the government founded a study center specialized in the Middle East at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad.
“The work on the Pak-Arab Federation has started with the basic aim of helping to strengthen the relationship of Pakistan with brotherly Arab countries,” the prime minister’s aide, Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, told Arab News.

Chairman of Hizb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami of Afghanistan Karim Khalili said the Islamic Republic of Iran was a powerful player in the region and a longtime neighbor of Afghanistan and that Kabul considers Tehran’s role in the Afghan peace process important and decisive.
Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of a public discussion organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) on Wednesday, during his visit to Pakistan, Khalili stressed the importance of cooperation between Kabul and Tehran to contribute to peace and security in the region.
He said Iran is an important and long-standing neighbor of Afghanistan. “We consider Iran as one of the powerful countries in the region, which plays a pivotal role in maintaining peace in the region as well as contributing to the Afghan peace process,” Khalili said.
