New Balance‘s Flimby, UK factory has been doing what it does best in 2021, namely cranking out high-quality 991s, 920s and 1500s. It’s the 1500 that the Flimby folks have focused their energy on most recently however, as it’s now appeared in a “Desert Scape Pack” colorway that blends barren brown and tan shades with lush, luxurious materials.
Heels take on both dark and medium brown shades, while the suede mudguard, leather overlays and mesh toeboxes/throats opt for various sandy tones. This entire assemblage is centered around a white quarter panel, made of cracked leather and embroidered with a two-tone N logo. The tongue is done up in white leather as well smooth instead of cracked and nods to its made in the UK construction with navy embroidery. More branding arrives via a white 1500 hit on the lateral heel. Down below, the look is finalized by a supportive ENCAP midsole and a traditional gum outsole.

Nike‘s Air Max 90 has long mastered Nike Sportswear style, but it can seamlessly shift to a more luxe look as well as indicated by its new premium “Light Smoke Grey” and “Obsidian” makeups. Boasting a rich blend of materials and elegant two-tone colorways, each elevates the seminal Tinker Hatfield-designed model to provide stately summertime style.
“Light Smoke Gray” mixes gray and white shades for a palette that’s seemingly just as much New Balance as it is Nike. On the other hand, “Obsidian” keeps things cool by combining a duo of dark blue hues with gray and white embellishments. Both pairs offer textile throats, toeboxes and collar detailing that work with rich suedes on the mudguards and quarters for a material contrast. TPU is used on eyestays and midfoot “windows,” and familiar rubberized material graces the heel badge.

Back in 2016,
adidas was releasing limited-edition NMD R1 sneakers like the white-and-black “Digi Camo” version that stirred as much hype as a pair of YEEZY BOOST 350s. Over the course of its five-year run, the NMD line became less popular among sneakerheads as the industry transitioned back to chunky sneakers and, more recently, Dunks from Nike’s SB line but now, adidas is looking to revive the sneaker back to its former glory with pairs such as this, the NMD R1 “Cloud White/Grey One.”
Served in a cleaner but somewhat similar makeup to the aforementioned “Digi Camo” pair, this NMD R1 features an upper constructed entirely from Primeknit and is served on top of a full-length BOOST sole unit. Stability-supporting EVA instep plugs are strategically placed at the forefoot and heel, with the former sporting “Grey One” adidas branding.
