The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following scholarship recipients for the Spring 2021 semester.
Grace Alford received the State Employees Credit Union Scholarship. The New Bern resident plans to transfer to East Carolina University and work as a practicing psychologist.
Scholarships are awarded to students who best exemplify the membership philosophy of credit unions, People Helping People, and have demonstrated leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement. Preference will be given to students whose parents or guardians and family members are public sector employees who live and work in North Carolina. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 of higher and be enrolled in an associate degree, diploma or certificate program.

Based off a model in Springfield, Missouri, Eden Village of Wilmington residents will pay $300 a month, including utilities, and may live in the units permanently as long as they follow the rules of the gated community. Residents will also have access to clinical and social support services.
Selection criteria for the homes include a history of chronic homelessness for at least one year, having a chronic medical condition, physical or mental disability and creating a high cost to the public due to the use of public services.

The 4th Annual Governor’s School Supply Drive is being extended to encourage more donations for supplies to support North Carolina students and teachers.
