INEC plans to convert 753 voting points to polling units in Osun

Share Osun State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said the commission has concluded every necessary arrangement to convert the 753 voting points in the state into polling units before the next general election. It hinted also that, henceforth, polling units will no longer be in front of private houses, palaces and religious institutions. The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Olusegun Agbaje, who made this known in Osogbo, the state capital at the stakeholders meeting on the expansion of voters access to polling units, explained that the new created polling units will be ratified at the national headquarters after which an announcement will be made publicly.

CVR: INEC trains staff from 18 states in Benin

Share The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Monday began a Continuous Voters Registration, CVR, training for 36 members of staff drawn from 18 states, in Benin, Edo State capital. The participants at the training, who were drawn from the South-West, South-East, South-South states, as well as Benue State, are expected to undergo a three-day training at a workshop put together by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, IFES, under the tutelage of officials from the INEC Headquarters in Abuja. Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Johnson Sinikiem, while declaring the workshop open, noted that CVR would commence on June 28, 2021, hence the need to train the Commission’s staff for the crucial task ahead.
