Early voting begins April 10 through 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except on Sundays. Citizens who want to vote early may do so in person at the parish Registrar of Voters Office or at other designated locations, according to the secretary of state s office. Voters are encouraged to utilize Louisiana’s award-winning, free smartphone app, GeauxVote Mobile, to locate parish early voting locations, Election Day voting site, or view their sample ballot. Ardoin says the bipartisan panel will discuss ways to make sure voters have confidence in Louisiana elections and how to combat voter fatigue. “And then of course we want to see how we can improve the voting experience during early voting and election day,” said Ardoin. Ardoin says the commission will look at all aspects of voting and the goal is to enhance the confidence in Louisiana’s election process. “Look at ways to improve our absentee ballot process if there are any ways to improve it, looking at issues of just general experience of voters, do we need more early voting sites,” said Ardoin.
