Chautauqua County’s vaccination rate ticked up ever so slightly, according to numbers released Tuesday by New York state.
To date, 28,470 residents within the county have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, representing 22.3% of the population, and 280 more than what was reported Monday in the state’s vaccination tracker. Further, 14,383 county residents have completed their vaccination series, an increase of 306 from the previous day.
In Cattaraugus County, 14,676 residents have been administered at least one dose while 8,476 have completed their series.

More than 18% of Chautauqua County’s population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the New York state Department of Health, 23,314 county residents as of Monday have been administered a shot, with 10,561 who have completed their vaccine series.
The local numbers are expected to be boosted following a vaccination clinic held at the State University of New York at Fredonia. The site was open to those over the age of 65, essential workers in phase 1b and people with qualifying health conditions.
