Pakistani PM calls for universal access to COVID-19 vaccine Xinhua 14 Jul 2021, 04:44 GMT+10 ISLAMABAD, July 13 (Xinhua) Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Tuesday that universal and affordable access to COVID-19 vaccine is essential to defeat the coronavirus and revive global trade, investment and economic growth. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic revealed and accentuated the endemic inequalities which exist within and amongst nations. The global economy will not recover fully until all countries, rich and poor, are enabled to accelerate and expand investment for achieving the SDGs (sustainable development goals) and climate goals, Khan said while virtually addressing the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
