Three killed in wrong-way crash on I-84 in Sturbridge

Three women from three different states were killed. Author: Bill Flood Updated: 8:24 PM EDT April 18, 2021 STURBRIDGE, Mass. Police are investigating a crash that killed three people on I-84 in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The crash was apparently caused by a wrong-way drive.  At approximately 6 p.m. Saturday, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to reports of a crash involving a 2009 Nissan Murano traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Route 84, prior to Exit 6B. The westbound car struck a Volvo traveling east on the eastbound side. The crash resulted in fatal injuries to the operator of the Nissan, identified as Deyja Jackson, age 40, of Worcester, and fatal injuries to the operator and passenger in the Volvo, identified as Irene Karam, 83, of Manchester, N.H. and Patricia Knauer, 62, of Deland, Fla. respectively.

Pedestrian struck, killed on I-93 in Medford, state police say

Updated: 1:42 PM EST Feb 28, 2021 A young woman is dead after she was struck and killed on a Massachusetts highway when she exited her friend s vehicle, according to state police.State police say the Medford Barracks received a report at 12:01 a.m. Sunday of a body on Interstate 93 north in Medford, prior to Exit 32.Responding state police troopers and emergency medical services personnel found the victim, a 22-year-old woman, and pronounced her dead at the scene.Investigators believe that the victim was a passenger in a friend s vehicle that was traveling on I-93 when she exited the vehicle. The victim, who at this point was a pedestrian on the highway, was then struck and killed by a motor vehicle or motor vehicles.State police say they are still trying to find out the description of the vehicle or vehicles that fatally struck the woman. The reason why and the manner in which the victim exited her friend s vehicle remains under investigation.The pedestrian crash is being
