“We are probing in conspiracy, communal disharmony and other angles,” says DGP Police probing the Ramateertham idol desecration case have some important leads and the act of the miscreants was leading to conspiracy angle, said Director General of Police (DGP) D. Gautam Sawang.
“We observed something like a pattern (similarity with other incidents) occurred in the last few days with Ramateertham vandalizing case. Police, in association with the Crime Investigation Department (CID) are investigating the case in other angles,” Mr. Sawang said.

Jammu and Kashmir has seen a decrease in terrorist incidents, infiltration and civilian killings in 2020, while security forces carried out more than 100 successful counter-terrorism operations killing 225 terrorists, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said on Thursday.
Addressing the annual press conference of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Mr Singh said, We undertook over 100 successful operations in J&K. Ninety operations took place in Kashmir and 13 in Jammu. As many as 225 terrorists were killed 207 in Kashmir and 18 in Jammu division.
He said that among the killed terrorists, 47 were top commanders belonging to various outfits. Today, all top commanders of various outfits have been eliminated, he added.

BATON ROUGE- Four days before the statute of limitations would have expired, former high-ranking State Police Chief of Staff Charles Dupuy sued his former employer, the State of Louisiana and the Department of Public Safety, after a trooper crashed into him in December 2019.
The lawsuit filed in the 19th Judicial District Court said, DPS caused and/or contributed to the subject collision due to their negligent hiring, training and or supervision of defendant William Ray Stogner.”

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Buoyed by its success in the local body elections, the LDF is preparing to take the battle to the rival camp after the state government was put on the defensive over a slew of controversies in the past five months. According to sources in the state police, the vigilance department is likely to record the arrest of Congress legislator and former health minister VS Sivakumar in a disproportionate assets case within a month.
The investigating officer in the case, the vigilance special cell SP, was summoned to the state police headquarters a couple of weeks before the elections, sources said. The officer is learnt to have handed over a document that allegedly put Sivakumar in the dock. The agency had earlier charged him with amassing wealth illegally and stacking money in the name of close associates when he was in office, from 2011 to 16.
