Drugs Control Admin takes measures to maintain hassle free supply of Covid Drugs

Jammu: To ensure the smooth and hassle free availability of Covid Management Drugs in the Pharma Distribution Channels, the Drug Control Officers under the direct supervision of Assistant Drugs Controller, Jammu carried out simultaneous surprise inspections in and around the tertiary care hospitals and the Covid Designated Hospitals in Jammu. The primary objective and focus of the constituted teams was to ensure that the Covid Management/allied Life Saving Drugs are sold strictly as per the mandate of law and to curb unnecessary panic buying & hoarding of such medicines in the large patient care. The teams of the Drug Control Officers during these surprise inspections observed that some pharma dealers were engaged and indulging in panic sale of Covid Management & other Life Saving Medicines to the customers.

Operation of 36 erring medical stores suspended in Jammu division Operation of 36 erring medical stores suspended in Jammu division JAMMU: Drugs Control Organisation has suspended operations of 36 Retail Sale Establishments across Jammu Province for violation of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940. As per DCO, surprise inspections of Retail Sale Outlets particularly, situated in far flung/remote areas were carried out by the concerned Drugs Control Officers under the supervision of respective Assistant Drugs Controller in Jammu Province under the overall the authority of State Drugs Controller, Lotika Khajuria to ensure availability of quality drugs to the end users. The operation of 6 units were disallowed in Jammu, 6 in Samba, 2 in Kathua, 6 in Kishtwar, 4 in Udhampur and 12 in Ramban district.
