ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the government will soon launch a `National Remittance Loyalty Programme’ for overseas Pakistanis to provide them incentives for their contributions to the country’s development.
While presiding over a meeting on remittances on Friday, the prime minister highlighted the need for taking measures to provide more facilities to the Pakistanis living abroad.
The programme will be launched in collaboration with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC), Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Benevolent and Old Age Employees Fund and other government agencies. PESHAWAR: For the first time in the history of Pakistan, at least 250,439 patients were treated under the Sehat Card Plus programme in public and private hospitals free of cost during the seven months of 2020-21.
The majority of patients preferred private hospitals for their treatment; around 174,388 people went to private hospitals and only 76,052 patients were treated in government hospitals. The government has paid an amount of Rs 7.2 billion to different hospitals. The KP government has paid Rs 13.056 billion to the State Life Insurance Corporation during the last financial year and under the agreement, the organization will pay back the remaining amount of Rs 5.856 billion.
