The Thematics Wellness fund is the latest launch for the Natixis Investment Management subsidiary, which is designed to complement its existing thematic funds that cover AI and robotics, safety, water and the boom in the subscription economy. This new fund will be overseen by portfolio manager Marine Dubrac, who has joined from Candriam. Dubrac had been named across a host of thematic strategies, covering consumer and ESG investment ideas, during her four-and-a-half years with the group.

The project finance loan provided by Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) is the largest contribution to a total USD 140 million being made available to Karpowership, owner, operator and developer of Powerships, on which power plants are built. The total loan, including MCB’s commitment, will be used by Karpowership to run a 235-Megawatt (MW) Powership in Dakar, Senegal, which will be responsible for approximately 15% of Senegal’s total supply of electricity.
