+ April 23, 2021 POLICE arrested on Thursday, April 22, 2021, a barangay kagawad and four other suspects in separate anti-drug operations in Eastern Visayas towns.
In Alangalang, Leyte, police identified the barangay kagawad as Mark Vergara, 32, who has been listed as a high-value individual of the town.
A poseur buyer was able to purchase from the suspect a sachet containing substance believed to be shabu, while confiscated from his possession and control were three small sachets believed to be containing shabu and buy-bust money.
The drug item was estimated at P2,500, police said.
In Tacloban City, elements of Police Station 2-Station Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended Jeffrey Delingon, 36.

Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in a buy-bust operation conducted by Bulacan police on Monday, April 20.
Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe, Bulacan police director, identified the slain drug suspects as Danilo Pineda Paiste, and Raffy Aniag Reyes, both from Brgy. Lambakin, Marilao, Bulacan.
The buy-bust operation against the suspects was conducted by the operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Marilao in Brgy. Lambakin at 12:02 am.
Based on the police report, the suspects sensed that they were transacting with police officers and fired at them.
Police officers fired back which resulted in the death of the suspects.

Three persons, including a 16-year-old girl, were arrested Wednesday night in a buy-bust in Pasay City.
Pasay City police identified the suspects as Leonardo Jondes, 23; Ramon Gonzales, 52, who are both listed in the police drug watchlist. The teenage suspect was identified only as Colline.
The three were arrested at 6:15 p.m. at No. 529 Tengco St., Barangay 108, Zome12, Pasay City.
Col. Cesar Paday-os, city police chief, said members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) were able to buy three pieces of small heat plastic sachets from the suspects which led to their arrest.
Recovered from the suspects were 15 grams of shabu amounting to P102,000 and a blue Yamaha Mio motorcycle.
The Bulacan police identified the slain drug peddler as Espero Dacanay alias “Nico.”
The buy-bust operation was conducted by members of the Marilao police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at 10:35 p.m. in Looban 2, Barangay Loma de Gato where Dacanay was residing.
Based on the police report, Dacanay sensed that he was transacting with a poseur buyer and fired at the latter but missed.
Police officers then returned fire which resulted in the death of Dacanay.
Recovered from the suspect were a Cal.38 Smith and Wesson, three aluminum foil strips, 10 sachets of shabu, two disposable lighters, one blue pouch, and buy-bust money.

+ April 14, 2021 ANTI-DRUG operatives apprehended two suspects for alleged selling and possession of shabu in separate operations in Tacloban City Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
Tacloban City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Captain Eliezer Abellon, under the supervision of Major Edwin Cañamaque, arrested Erwin Toledo, a watchlisted drug personality in Barangay Payapay of the city.
Police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, confiscated during the operation one sachet containing suspected, as a subject of sale; buy-bust money; and six sachets believed to containing shabu, which was recovered from the suspect s actual possession.
The drug items have an estimated market value of P20,000 and estimated weight of 1 gram, police said in the report.
