PUTRAJAYA: The Energy and Natural Resources Ministry (KeTSA) is introducing the Net Energy Metering (NEM) 3.0 programme to provide an opportunity for more users to install the solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on the roofs of their respective buildings for electricity bill reduction.

pix) said NEM3.0 would offer a quota of 500 megawatts (MW) from 2021 to 2023.
The NEM 3.0 programme involves three initiatives - Program NEM Rakyat, Program NEM GoMEn (Government Ministries and Entities) and Program NOVA (Net Offset Virtual Aggregation).

pic) said NEM 3.0, which will be in effect from 2021 to 2023, has three new initiatives - Program NEM Rakyat, Program NEM GoMEn and Program NOVA.
Under Program NEM Rakyat, residential users who installed photovoltaic (PV) systems will enjoy an offset rate of “one-to-one” for a period of 10 years and they will practice the concept of self-consumption after the 10-year period ends.
The one-to-one offset ratio means that one credit equals up to RM0.51 per kilowatt for domestic tariff.
As an example, if one unit of energy was generated in excess for the current month, then the user will get charged for less one unit of energy the following month.
Towards this end, the company would be tapping the expertise of season banker Datuk Phan Ying Tong to lay down the groundwork and strategies to penetrate the Cambodian banking sector. Phan would also be in the management team of the new bank.
