KANSAS CITY, Mo. â At a time when nearly everyone
saw an increase in the challenges they d regularly face - the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum used 2020, its centennial year, to knock down barriers by telling the stories of those who d already done that a century ago.
Many may know about the first athlete to break the color barrier in Major League Baseball. but what about the last? Or the one who broke it twice?

The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum continues to celebrate the history of the Negro Leagues, and MLB.com’s Bill Ladson has written a series of articles on some of the league’s legends. Today, the focus is Bud Fowler.
A lot of Negro Leaguers who played before the 20th century are often overlooked because of the talent the leagues displayed from 1920 until the mid-1950s. Players like Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson and Cool Papa Bell get all the glory for what they accomplished during the 20th century.
