If you still don’t really understand exactly what Non-Fungible Tokens are, then you’re definitely not alone. Kings of Leon, however, reckon you need to rectify that pretty quickly, as they think they’re going to play a bigger and bigger part in the way the world works.
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are a type of cryptocurrency, similar to Bitcoin. The important difference though is that they cannot be exchanged and are essentially one-off digital tokens for virtual or physical assets, such as art, gig tickets and albums. This means that the digital item only belongs to the person that purchased it.

Most people wouldn’t expect polite golf chat from Kings of Leon. Not from the group who emerged in the early aughts like a garage-rock thunderbolt. Proudly discussing the exploits of their young children? Sure, they are fathers, after all. But
golf? Even with all their accolades and successes, one prize stands out for 41-year-old Nathan Followill, the group’s oldest and most affable member.
“One of my proudest moments was making
Golf Digest’s [2014] list of 100 best musician golfers,” the drummer says with a laugh, before explaining some of the game’s nuances and his hopes of becoming the first musician who plays the game both left-and-right handed to make the list.

If I look at a list of my top 5 achievements, someone near the top is “stuck hand through fence at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre and got hand signed by Kings of Leon”. What a night. I managed to get to a few Kings of Leon tour dates back in the 00s I think we’re at 7 and counting and let me tell you, they are always a good time. But for 10 long years they have ignored our beautiful country and it’s saddened my soul. Which is why today’s news that Kings of Leon have announced a 2022 Australian tour is the Friday vibe we all need.
Caleb (guitar, vocals) said
“We want to get back to New Zealand, it is stunningly beautiful. I remember the first time we were there, we were all kind of stunned – it felt like we were in a different world.”
Nathan (drums) added: “
We’re so looking forward to getting back out on the road with our touring family: we still have the same sound man and guitar tech that we had on our very first show and we also have cousins that are part of our crew
. But, most of all, it’s the shared experience of performing in front of our fans from all corners of the globe, in person, that we miss. Let’s all come together and celebrate the power of live music.”
