Extended Troika on Peaceful Settlement in Afghanistan calls for comprehensive ceasefire
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Extended Troika on peaceful settlement of Afghan issue reiterated that the withdrawal of foreign troops should ensure a steady transition of situation in Afghanistan, besides stressing upon Taliban not to pursue their spring offensive.
The text of the joint statement was released by the Governments of the United States of America, the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of the Extended “Troika” on Peaceful Settlement in Afghanistan held in Doha, Qatar on April 30.

Troika, which includes Pakistan, the US, Russia and China, release 14-point joint statement after meeting in Qatari capital Doha.
Troika says they met with the Afghan government’s negotiating team and members of the Taliban, as well as Qatar officials.
Statement said 14-points were issued on outcomes of previous Troika meetings and discussions held in last two years.
The Extended Troika on Peaceful Settlement in Afghanistan on Saturday called on the Afghan Taliban to “fulfil its counterterrorism commitments” and ensure that no terrorist groups use Afghan soil to harm any other country.

KABUL (Pajhwok). The Extended Troika on a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan has urged Kabul to engage openly with the Taliban on a negotiated end to the war in the country.
At their meeting in Qatar on Friday, the United States, Russia, China and Pakistan hoped the Taliban would keep their promise to prevent terrorist groups from using Afghan territory to threaten the security of other countries.
Sputnik reported the meeting in Doha was also attended by representatives from the Afghan government and the Taliban movement.
In a joint statement, the participants said; “We expect the Taliban to fulfill their counterterrorism commitments, including preventing terrorist groups and individuals from using Afghan soil to threaten the security of any other country; not hosting these groups and preventing them from recruiting, training, and fundraising.”

Pakistan has urged the international community to take cognisance of the unabated human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and play its role in resolution of the dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions.
Addressing the weekly briefing on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said the extra-judicial killings by the Indian occupation forces continued unabated in IIOJK during the past week as well.
He said ten more Kashmiris were martyred in Pulwama and Shopian districts of IIOJK; and out of these seven were martyred on Thursday. The spokesperson said that Pakistan has repeatedly called for independent investigations under international scrutiny, into the extra-judicial killings of all innocent Kashmiris.

Pakistan and Russia, during the recent visit of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Islamabad, have agreed to intensify efforts to deepen cooperation in a myriad of sectors, the Foreign Office said on Friday. During the delegation-level talks, the two sides agreed on the need to intensify efforts to deepen cooperation in all areas, including economy and trade, energy, counter-terrorism, security and defence, education, and people-to-people exchanges, said FO spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri in the weekly briefing in Islamabad today.
