Photo: Sundry Photography/Shutterstock.com.  Investment funds Blackstone Real Estate Partners and Starwood Capital Group announced on Monday that they have agreed to purchased Extended Stay America for $6 billion. The deal, which has been fully approved by Extended Stay America’s Board of Directors, is reportedly the largest sale in the hotel industry during COVID-19 and a huge bet on the rebound of travel and tourism coming out of the pandemic. Extended Stay America, which has been called a “pandemic success story” by CNN, has been in business for 26-years and has more than 600 hotels across the United States. The company provides accommodations for travelers who generally need a week or longer stay.
