Evalyn (Peggs) Economy, obituary

Evalyn L. (Peggs) Economy. CAMDEN Evalyn L. (Peggs) Economy passed away peacefully at the Sussman House in Rockport on March 2, 2021 after a short illness. Born April 29, 1933 in Cohasset, Massachusetts, she was the middle of three daughters born to Dr. MacDonald and Alice (Douglas) Peggs. After spending her childhood in Massachusetts, she moved to Maine during high school, and graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield Class of 52. She remained good friends with several high school friends throughout her life, and was especially close with her sisters, Betsy and Penny.   As a young woman, she loved her job doing local broadcasting at WTVL Radio Station in Waterville and drove a sporty Austin Healey Sprite convertible. She met her husband, Terrence Economy, who worked at WRKD in Rockland, on a blind date. They married in 1960 and bought an antique Cape in East Union Village on the mill pond where they raised their son, Mac, and lived for over 30 years.

LeForest Lee E Dodge, Jr , obituary

Tue, 03/09/2021 - 12:30pm LeForest ‘Lee’ E. Dodge. ROCKPORT LeForest Earl Dodge, Jr., 75, husband of Marlene (Wentworth) Dodge, died on February 17, 2021 at Pen Bay Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Camden on November 2, 1945, he was the son of LeForest E. Dodge, Sr. and Virginia (Hills) Dodge and was a 1964 graduate of Camden High School. Lee served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam from 1964 to 1967 and married Marlene Wentworth in Rockport on September 13, 1969. After receiving his Associates’ Degree at Husson College in Bangor, he was employed at FMC in Rockland for 42 years. Lee was a 42 member of the Camden American Legion Post #30 and 46 year member of the Rockland Elks Lodge. His hobbies included snowmobiling, riding his motor cycle, and travelling in their RV. Lee and Marlene spent several winters in Texas and had lived in Dover Foxcroft for a few years before moving back to Rockport.
