(Richard Lautens/Toronto Star) With its April deadline quickly approaching, Ontario’s commission investigating COVID in long-term care homes is “in a rush” to finish its full report, a person with knowledge of the investigation told iPolitics. The commission is crunched for time because thousands of pages of records requested by investigators from the government were slow-walked, the commission said in a Dec. 9 letter to the Ministry of Long-Term Care. In that letter, the commission sought an extension from the government because of the delay obtaining records, which turned its request down, but pledged to fulfill outstanding record requests.
