But the couple will not be celebrating a belated Thanksgiving.
A fall in their Ephrata home last year sent Eshelmanâs wife to the Denver Borough facility to recover from ankle surgery. Diagnosed with COVID-19 five weeks after her transfer, Sue Eshelman died on Dec. 2.
She was 69.
âI promised her Iâd have Thanksgiving with her when she got out,â said Eshelman, 55. Sue had diabetes and kidney cancer, but she was sent to the nursing home to recover from her ankle surgery and was expected to recover and come home, Don said, asking, âHow do you go from falling down and breaking your ankle to passing away?â
CCP Virus Updates: UK Bans Arrivals From South America
The United Kingdom is banning arrivals from South America following evidence of a new variant of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus in Brazil.
The government says that beginning at 4 a.m. Friday, arrivals will no longer be allowed from all South American countries as well as the Cape Verde islands off the west coast of Africa and Panama in Central America.

President-elect Joe Biden late Thursday announced a $1.9 trillion stimulus plan to address the ongoing CCP virus pandemic in the United States.
Biden asserted that more spending early on would reduce the long-term economic damage caused by the CCP virus lockdowns and restrictions.
