WI DHS: 110K staff, residents vaccinated in long-term care program

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced on Friday, April 16 that the federal Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program will complete its last round of COVID-19 vaccination clinics next week.
Since the launch of the program on December 28, 2020, pharmacy partners have provided first, second, and third rounds of on-site clinics at more than 2,900 long-term care facilities across Wisconsin. Vaccinations were provided to over 47,000 staff and 62,000 residents.
The Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program is a federal public-private partnership that provided vaccine administration for Wisconsin’s long-term care facilities. Through a contract, CVS and Walgreens pharmacies offered on-site COVID-19 vaccination to participating nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police are asking for the public s help in the search for long-term missing person Delisha Thames.
Thames was last seen on Oct. 24, 2020 in Milwaukee. She is described as a female, African American, 16 years old, 5 tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
If anyone has information about Thames whereabouts, you are urged to contact Milwaukee police at 414-935-7401.
The Milwaukee Health Department opted NOT to revise the current public health order on Friday, April 16 despite the fact that the city's rate of COVID-19 cases continues to increase.
Long-term care facilities across Pennsylvania will be able to vaccinate new residents and staff through efforts announced Thursday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The new program resumes what the CDC s Federal Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program started shortly after COVID-19 vaccine was first released in December.
For the past month or so, facilities have had to make their own arrangements to vaccinate new residents and staff, said Keara Klinepeter, executive deputy secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Now the state is leveraging vaccine through the partnership on an ongoing basis to vaccinate staff and residents. Facilities will request vaccine from their participating pharmacies, which in turn will order from Federal Long-Term Care Pharmacy Partners receiving federal vaccine allocations.
