Essential caregivers to return to LTC homes in Bruce County

The County of Bruce are resuming their Essential Caregiver Program at their two long term care facilities. Starting on Friday, essential caregivers will be allowed to visit residents at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton and Gateway Haven in Wiarton subject to meeting COVID-19 guidelines. The program was suspended on December 26th when the Province ordered a shutdown of all non-essential services. In preparation for the return, on-site testing was done for essential caregivers on Tuesday in Walkerton and there will be one in Wiarton on Wednesday. In a news release, the County says their long term care homes are in full compliance with the Long Term Care Homes Act and all associated regulations.
