Tested: 2019 Tesla Model 3 Performance Hits 60 in 3.1 Seconds
More power, sticky tires, bigger brakes, and Track mode make for a great sports sedan.
If Tesla has proven anything to car enthusiasts, it s that electric cars don t have to be boring. The Model 3 Performance, which has more power, more tire, and better brakes than the dual-motor Long Range model on which it s based, goes much further than simply not boring and is an unbelievably fun sports sedan.
Not a believer? Floor it from a stop and try a few 30-to-50-mph pulls. This is a car that flirts with 1 g both on the skidpad, with a 0.96 g effort, and in gut-punching acceleration. An over-the-air update that was delivered back in 2019 promised a 5 percent increase of power to all Model 3s, and the Performance will pin you back in the seat like a supercar.

2021 Polestar 2 review: A truly cool EV
While the Polestar 2 might not have segment-leading stats, this electric hatch is extremely easy to like.
The Polestar 2 is one of the coolest EVs on sale. Daniel Golson/Roadshow
Most new EVs either look too normal to stand out or too strange to entice regular consumers, but the Polestar 2 perfectly lands in that middle ground. To my eyes, this is one of the first truly cool EVs at least in terms of more affordable cars. And when it comes to new segments and emerging tech, sometimes being cool is the most important thing.
