A Montrose woman was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for her role in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
U.S. Attorney Jason Dunn announced on Friday that Naomi Vaughn, 36, received a sentence of 87 months, to be followed by a five-year term of supervised release.
According to court documents, as well as facts presented at sentencing, Vaughn and her co-defendant Joseph Davis, who is her husband, were mid-level dealers of methamphetamine in the Montrose area, receiving and distributing multiple pounds of methamphetamine for profit.
Davis was released on parole in 2019 for a previous conviction of drug distribution after he served a portion of a 10-year prison sentence.

BATESVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - An Independence County man is facing at least four charges, including a drug trafficking charge after authorities say they found nearly $50,000 in drugs, a weapon, and cash.
According to a post on the Independence County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, Billy Jack Wilson, 45, of Batesville was arrested Wednesday in the case.

Marion County Woman Charged With TennCare Drug Fraud Monday, December 21, 2020
A Marion County woman is charged with TennCare fraud in a case involving prescription drugs.
The Office of Inspector General, in a joint effort with the 12th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Marion County Sheriff’s office today announced the arrest of 50-year old Patricia Hargis of South Pittsburg. She is charged with one count of TennCare fraud, a class D felony. The case is being prosecuted by District Attorney General Mike Taylor of Marion County.
Investigators allege that Ms. Hargis knowingly used TennCare benefits to obtain a prescription for 84 tablets of Oxycodone, then selling a portion of the pills. TennCare paid for both the doctor’s visit and the prescription.
