Second-degree manslaughter suspects arraigned

  The two Christian County man facing charges of second-degree manslaughter were arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon. Josh Long and Seth Henderson both appeared virtually before Judge Andrew Self, who entered not guilty pleas on their behalf and appointed the Department of Public Advocacy to represent them.  Judge Self informed both that they can chose to retain a private lawyer if they so wish.

Proceedings continued in attempted murder, assault case

Proceedings were continued in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon for attempted murder and assault suspect Jaylynn Cheatham. Cheatham appeared virtually before Judge Andrew Self, who informed him that his new attorney David Rye had requested the continuance as he awaits both more evidence to be turned over and for a new indictment in the case. Judge Self set a pretrial hearing for July 26, saying hopefully any new indictments will be in by that time. Cheatham is facing charges of two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and attempted murder. He is accused of shooting 20-year old Darrius Quarles of Hopkinsville and 38-year old Bryan Jones of Cadiz in April at a gas station on East Ninth Street.  Windows of the gas station were shot out and 21 bullet fragments were recovered by investigators.

Suspects In Fatal Overdose Of Crofton Woman Arraigned

Joshua Long Two men arrested Monday in connection to the January death of a Crofton woman were arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon. 20-year old Joshua Long and 19-year old Seth Henderson were taken into custody on indictment warrants charging them with second-degree manslaughter. The charges are in connection to the January 10th overdose death of 23-year old Corbin Bowling, who reportedly purchased drugs from the men. During Long’s appearance, Judge Andrew Self appointed the Department of Public Advocacy to take his case with Public Defender Olivia Adams entering a not guilty plea on his behalf.
