Fermanagh man who terrorised woman given five month prison sentence

Enniskillen Court House. A 55-YEAR-OLD man has been given a five-month prison sentence for breaching a restraining order. William Thomas Birney, of Tullyreagh Road, Tempo, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday via videolink from Maghaberry Prison in relation to incidents which took place from December 3-19, 2020. On December 19, police received a 999 call from an injured party, saying they required help immediately before hanging up. When police rang back, they gathered that the injured party was with someone and was unable to talk. When officers arrived at the house the victim was distressed and scared of the defendant, who was inside the property. Birney was arrested and taken to Omagh Police Station.

Rosslea man jailed for six months for litany of offences

Enniskillen Court House.. A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to six months in jail after he was convicted of a “litany” of crimes at Enniskillen Magistrates Court. Appearing via videolink from Maghaberry Prison, Damien Crudden of Drimshancorick Road, Drumgoast, Rosslea was convicted of 26 charges relating to five separate incidents. The first charge of fraud by self representation took place in June, 2019. Kitchen The court heard the injured party had contacted Crudden to get some work done on her kitchen and when he called to her house in June he said it would cost £1,000 and he took a £600 deposit. However, there was no further word from Crudden despite attempts to contact him. He was interviewed in November, 2019 and said he would be carrying out the work and had taken a £500 deposit. He said he and his wife were sick and had planned on doing it later. He said that he had deposited the deposit in the bank and later bought paint for the work with it.

It resulted in a spell in the courthouse cells before Darren McGill (30) of Ann Street, Enniskillen was brought back up to hear his sentencing. McGill was facing eight charges of criminal damage and one charge of resisting police and common assault in relation to incidents on June 9, 2019 and January 7, 2020.
