A California man who was sentenced in 2017 to three years in prison for disrupting a DFW-bound flight in 2016 will return to prison for another year and 1/2 after admitting to violating his conditions of supervised release.
Jerry Ba Nguyen admitted during a hearing earlier this month to violating the conditions of his supervised release that prohibited him from using controlled substances and required him to participate in a substance abuse treatment program.
In the April 22 hearing, Nguyen admitted to using methamphetamine and the synthetic cannabinoid K2 about a week after he began his supervised release. Then on July 26, 2019, a day after he admitted to using the drugs, he left the Salvation Army residential treatment program without permission.

LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) - A Lubbock man who twice escaped from law enforcement custody has been sentenced to more than 35 years in federal prison for gun and drug crimes, announced Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Prerak Shah.
