No, your eyes aren t deceiving you. It s mid-January and the Christmas tree on the Somerset Fountain Square is still up. And no, it s not normally up this long.

WEBSTER CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Webster County Judge Executive Steve Henry has appointed Donald Jones as the countyâs new sheriff.
Heâll take over Jan. 1 for Sheriff Frankie Springfield, who is retiring.
Springfield has been sheriff for 18 years, and Jones has been his chief deputy for more than 15 years.
Heâs been with the department since 1996.
A Kentucky statute says the Judge Executive appoints the office of sheriff when it is vacated.
