PITTSBURGH – A Pittsburgh resident disavows all liability for allegedly not properly maintaining a retaining wall bordering her neighbors’ home, one which the plaintiff neighbors say will eventually fail and result in widespread damage to their property.
George Vickery and Mary Vickery first filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 4 versus Christina Norkus, also of Pittsburgh.
“Plaintiffs and defendant are the owners of residential homes located at Glen Lytle Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15217. The parties’ properties are adjacent to and abut each other. There is a retaining wall located on defendant’s property providing lateral support to plaintiff’s property,” the suit stated.

PITTSBURGH - FeelNu Medical Spa and Wellness Center LLC, a spa in McKees Rocks, faces charges from a Rochester, Minn., woman who received second-degree burns during a laser hair removal treatment at the spa, according to documents filed Feb. 26 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
Plaintiff Coryn Thomas-Porter visited FeelNu in September 2020 for laser hair removal treatment. Thomas-Porter suffered second-degree burns to her face, neck and chest area, injuries that have significantly impacted her ability to work and quality of life, the suit said.
The plaintiff is suing the spa for one count of negligence, potentially including inadequately trained employees or failure to remedy faulty equipment. She is seeking damages exceeding $35,000.

PITTSBURGH – A website operator claims that it is immune from a lawsuit brought by a Bridgeville man against itself and Google that claims his mugshot from an arrest made 17 years ago was recently listed on the website’s database of currently imprisoned individuals.
Mitchell P. Gedid of Bridgeville first filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 27 versus Travis Paul Grant, Marielle Lizette Grant and Kyle David Grant of Longwood, Fla., Google, LLC of Mountain View, Calif. and John Doe Corporation.
According to the lawsuit, a website operated by the non-corporate defendants at www.bailbondshq.com has a separate page allowing visitors to search an inmate database for individuals incarcerated in the state of Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH – A landscaping firm contends that a pair of Pittsburgh homeowners, and not itself, are responsible for injuries that a local man suffered when an oak tree collapsed and fell on him.
Steven L. Orebaugh and Jennifer Orebaugh first filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 28 versus Blystone Tree and Landscaping, Inc. All parties are of Pittsburgh.
The suit said that David A. Mosey and Gertrude Van Kirk (not parties to the litigation) own a residential property in Pittsburgh, upon which several trees were located, including a large oak tree in the front yard, rooted near a driveway that had been excavated after the tree had been growing for many years.

PITTSBURGH - A former student sued the North Hills School District after she was injured walking in a grass lawn, according to documents filed Feb. 23 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
Plaintiff Kaylee Kleinsmith was walking across a grass lawn that joins the school with the North Hills High student parking lot in September 2019 when she allegedly stepped suddenly into an unseen hole in the lawn.
As a result, the plaintiff says she suffered injuries to the right ankle including a sprain, edema and deep venous thrombosis.
Kleinsmith is suing the school for one count of negligence for her injuries and mental suffering and demands a jury trial.
