A Belcourt (ND) man has been sentenced to more than 30 years in federal prison for sexually abusing six children.
Sixty-five-year-old Roger Decoteau was sentenced to 30 years and five months by U.S. District Court Chief Judge Peter Welte.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the FBI began investigating Decoteau in 2018 after an 8-year-old child disclosed that they were sexually abused by Decoteau.
six children, all under age 12.
Authorities said the children viewed Decoteau as a trusted adult and foster parent. Decoteau served as a foster parent in the Turtle Mountain community for nearly a decade.
