Last year, Carla Trier said, the Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange provided over 1,500 services.
Trier is the founder and executive director of the Exchange, and on Friday, she will be recognized as the 2021 Champion for Children during the Sheridan County Light of Hope Celebration.
An annual event of Compass Center for Families, the celebration this year will be a Watch Party starting at noon on Facebook. In a recent interview with Sheridan Media,
Trier said the Foster Parent Exchange has received amazing community support.
The Foster Parent Exchange is a Christian organization that provides needed resources and supplies to foster, adoptive and kinship parents and children. Trier started the Exchange about eight years ago.

WILKES-BARRE The Times Leader Media Group and Weis Markets have awarded the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Luzerne County program a $500 check as part of the “Year of Giving” program that recognizes a different nonprofit each month.

FAIRMONT â Marion County children who undergo trauma and end up in the court system have three new advocates on their side as of Tuesday.
Circuit Court Judge Patrick Wilson swore in three Court Appointed Special Advocates on Tuesday in the Division I courtroom.
âWe appoint volunteers through the court system to advocate for abused and neglected children in Marion County,â said Shannon Hogue, executive director of Marion County CASA.
CASA is a national organization whose goal is to use trained community volunteers to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court. They also work in technical assistance, training, public awareness activities, research and resource development, according to the CASA website.
