To celebrate their anniversary, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) has launched a campaign to achieve their vision to be able to advocate for EVERY child in the foster care system in Brown, Comanche, and Mills Counties. Illinois CASA announces recruitment initiative News provided by Illinois Association of Court Appointed Special Advocates CHICAGO The Illinois Association of Court Appointed Special Advocates is pleased to announce Board Member of the Year: Darlene Roy from CASA of Southwestern Illinois, Judge of the Year: The Honorable Judge Jonathan Braden with the Fifth Judicial Circuit, Staff Partner of the Year: Charlotte Meier, Executive Director for Boone County CASA and Advocate of the Year: Betty Page with CASA of Southwestern Illinois. Award winners were announced during Illinois CASA’s virtual conference entitled Closing the Gap: Equity in Advocacy held today. Last year in Illinois there were 31 non-profit CASA programs across 53 counties with nearly 3,000 volunteers who advocated for the best interests of 8,689 child victims of abuse and neglect.
