KUALA LUMPUR (The Straits Times/ANN): Singapore and Malaysia are still in discussions over the twice-delayed high-speed rail (HSR) project, which has until Dec 31 before officials have to make a final decision on its status, a Singapore Ministry of Transport spokesman has said.
The ministry was responding to a Malaysian news report on Sunday (Dec 13), quoting an unnamed source, that said Malaysia is planning to continue the project without Singapore’s involvement and end the line – which starts in Kuala Lumpur – in Johor, not Jurong East.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine in Singapore, with the first shipment of the vaccine expected to arrive here by the end of this month.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong revealed this in his address to the nation on Monday (Dec 14), saying: I am very happy to tell you that after studying the scientific evidence and clinical trial data, the Health Sciences Authority has approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for pandemic use.
This makes Singapore one of the first countries to obtain this vaccine, he added.
