Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, who was born in Israel and one of its most successful actresses, ignited a firestorm on Twitter with a post on May 12.
She tweeted: My heart breaks. My country is at war. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbours deserve the same.
The 36-year-old actress added: I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Police have arrested a man and a woman, both aged 25, for their suspected involvement in the death of a newborn baby in Taiwan two years ago.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, the police said on Tuesday evening (May 11) that the pair were taken into custody on April 28 following a request for assistance from the Taiwanese authorities.
Investigations are ongoing.
In February this year, the Taiwanese authorities issued an arrest warrant for a couple in Singapore for allegedly dumping the body of a newborn baby girl.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Nine contracts worth about RM1 billion (S$321 million) have been awarded for system works for the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, said the rail link s operator RTS Operations (RTSO).
In an update on Wednesday (May 12), the operator, a joint venture between Singapore rail operator SMRT and Malaysian public transport firm Prasarana, said these system works are progressing well .
It did not specify when these contracts were awarded.
Four of the contracts were for core systems, with Chinese firm CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive taking charge of the rail link’s rolling stock and the Malaysia and Singapore subsidiaries of Siemens Mobility handling the signalling system and platform screen doors.
