South Korean girl group April has been rocked by allegations of bullying for months and three of its members have finally spoken up.
Former April member Hyunjoo, 23, who is at the centre of the controversy, released a statement on Sunday (April 18) on Instagram, detailing what happened when she lived in a dorm with the other five members of the group. The bullying began in 2014, when I was preparing for my debut, and continued until 2016, when I left the group. I was 17 years old at the time and had to live in a dorm while preparing to debut, so I had to spend 24 hours a day with the perpetrators in a place where there was no one I could lean on, she wrote.

Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung and actor Louis Koo have been conferred honorary awards by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts on April 16.
Cheung was given an honorary doctorate while Koo received an honorary fellowship.
Hong Kong actor Wong Cho Lam, veteran actor Lau Shun and opera singer Leung So Kam also received the honorary fellowship from the academy.
They were among 10 individuals who were recognised for their achievements and contributions to the performing arts and cultural industry as well as the development of the academy.
To add insult to injury, Fung, 46, tagged Shu in the post and wrote on Instagram: Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife? Keep laughing together. Forever young!
Shu, of course, did not share the photo on her social-media accounts, but she left three syringe emojis under Fung s post. Some netizens joked that she is waiting for an opportunity to strike back at the
Gen-X Cops (1999) actor.
Last year, Fung posted on social media a photo of himself and a sleeping Shu, but with her face covered by a cap, to mark her birthday.
The move came after Shu posted an unglamorous photo of Fung sleeping on a plane on the first day of Chinese New Year in January last year.

The online poll of 1,000 Singaporeans aged 18 and above allowed respondents to pick multiple pleasures out of a list of about 60 items: 44 per cent opted for a nice dinner, 40 per cent enjoy tuning into their favourite songs and 37 per cent rejoice when it is payday.
The survey was commissioned by the Small Luxury Hotels of the World organisation, which has members in more than 90 countries, and was conducted earlier this month by marketing research firm OnePoll.
