Bennette Elizabeth Anderson, of Bexley, Ohio, found two alphabet cones on April 22 during her morning beach walk on Sanibel. One shell was located near Gulf Pines and the second was located near the Blue Dolphin Cottages. A few days later, Anderson found two colorful moon snails. She has been visiting her grandparents, the Hummels, in Gulf Pines since 1993. Anderson’s first day on a Sanibel beach was the morning after the “Storm of the Century” in March of 1993, when everything a sheller could ever imagine had washed up onshore. She has been captivated by marine life and shelling ever since.
