SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The History Museum and the Studebaker National Museum are joining museums across the country in offering free admission to all active U.S. military personnel and their families from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day.
From May 15 through September 6, all military personnel and their families will gain free admission to a number of museums with military ID. The free admission is part of the Blue Star Museums program.
Admission to the South Bend museums includes access to all exhibits and guided tours of the Oliver Mansion.

The Cosmosphere will join museums nationwide in the Blue Star Museums initiative, a program that provides free admission to currently-serving U.S. military personnel and their families, this summer.
The 2021 program will begin on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 15, and end on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6.
Blue Star Museums is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and participating museums nationwide.

How to Visit a Free Blue Star Museum This Summer

After taking a break last year, the Blue Star Museums collaboration between Blue Star Families, the Defense Department, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and museums across the country is back. The program offers free admission to active-duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families.
In 2021, the program will run from Saturday, May 15, through Monday, Sept. 6.
More than 2,000 museums are participating, including nature centers, zoos and children s museums. Each location will have its own safety protocols, which should be checked while planning your trip. Some locations may have additional opportunities or activities that may cost extra, which won t be included in the free admission.
