An auto theft suspect wasnât hard to find. He forgot his wallet at the crime scene, charges say.
An SUV was taken from outside a rural Blue Earth County residence Nov. 23. A wallet was left behind and it contained an identification card for Clifford Francis Freiderich III, 49, of Lake Crystal, according to a court complaint. A witness who saw the SUV being taken said the thief was the person pictured in the ID.
A sheriffâs deputy then located the missing SUV at Freiderichâs residence.
Freiderich was charged Tuesday in Blue Earth County District Court with felony theft and misdemeanor tampering with a vehicle.

MANKATO â A man allegedly ran two stop signs then crashed into a light pole while fleeing Mankato police Saturday night.
Darien Kristoph Klindworth-Woods, 22, was charged with felony fleeing police Monday in Blue Earth County District Court.
A police officer saw Klindworth-Woods going over 60 mph and run a stop sign on Homestead Road at Heron Drive around 11:50 p.m. Another officer tried to pull Klindworth-Woods over, but he would not stop and ran another stop sign at Monks Avenue, according to a court complaint.
Klindworth-Woods allegedly fled at a high speed before crashing into a light pole on the Minnesota State University campus. He then reportedly got out and ran but was caught

MANKATO â A 38-year-old man has been charged after threatening staff members at a Mankato hospital emergency room.
Ross Raymond Milbrett of Waseca was charged with one count of felony terroristic threats on Wednesday in Blue Earth County District Court.
In October, Milbrett was taken by ambulance to a Mankato hospital emergency room and started screaming upon arrival. While staff restrained Milbrett and placed him on the ground, Milbrett told one person that he would find him and his family and âkill them all,â the complaint read.
Milbrett also told an emergency room nurse trying to administer his medication that he would kill her and her family. Both people said they believed the threats to be credible, the complaint read.

MANKATO â A Lake Crystal man is facing several charges after drugs allegedly were found in his car after a hit-and-run crash that left another driver with minor injuries last month.
Tre Allen Waits, 27, was charged with felony drug possession, gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation and gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor leaving the scene of a crash Tuesday in Blue Earth County District Court.
Waits is suspected of crashing into a vehicle that was stopped at Cherry Street and Riverfront Drive the afternoon of Nov. 6. Waits did not stop, according to a court complaint. The other driver had minor injuries and the vehicle was inoperable.
