SINGAPORE - Ride-hailing firm Grab will start charging a platform fee of 30 cents for rides booked through its platform from Dec 18. The fee is inclusive of goods and services tax, and will apply to all Grab rides except those from the GrabHitch and GrabResponse services. It is the first such move by the firm to adjust the prices.

SINGAPORE: Media company mm2 Asia, which owns eight cinemas under the Cathay brand, announced on Wednesday (Dec 9) it has entered into a Heads of Agreement for the possible merger of its cinema business with Golden Village cinemas in Singapore, which is owned by Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment.
SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Singapore-listed mm2 Asia has entered into a heads of agreement for the possible merger of its Cathay cinema business with Golden Village cinemas in Singapore, which is owned by Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment (Holdings) Limited (OSGH).
The companies behind Cathay Cineplexes and Golden Village have entered into an initial agreement for a possible merger that would create the largest cinema operator in Singapore.
Singapore-listed mm2 Asia, which owns Cathay, and Golden Village owner Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment (Holdings), or OSGH, aim to bring in new investors to inject more capital into the combined business as part of the deal.
mm2 Asia owns eight cinemas in Singapore under the Cathay brand, and 14 cinemas in Malaysia under the Cathay Cineplexes Malaysia, Mega Cinemas and Lotus Fivestar labels. It also owns a movie film distribution business and an online streaming business.
