Frustrated Victorians whose weddings and holidays were cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic are taking legal action in a bid to recoup money.
In one recent case, a couple whose large wedding at the Collingwood Children’s Farm was cancelled received a $9230 refund from an events company after pursuing action in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Maria and Lou Larubina are taking legal action to recoup money from a travel company that refused to refund their deposit on a trip cancelled because of the pandemic.

Subscriber only Fraudster principal and self-proclaimed Dr Neil Lennie gained his doctorate certificate from the same fake online university as a pug called Chester. Lennie used his doctorate title to lure students to his private school, tutoring college and plastered the phony credential on billboards, promotion material and letters to the editor. But the Herald Sun can reveal the acclaimed doctor Lennie bought his certificate from Rochville University, an illegal diploma mill in Texas, United States.
