Charity the Lung Foundation said the latest money is a positive step, but called for more help. While we welcome the Budget announcement and look forward to full implementation of a national lung cancer screening program, we call on the Government to now continue the momentum in order to finally achieve equity for treatment and care across all cancers, Lung Foundation Australia CEO, Mark Brooke, said. We note this year s Budget contained $354 million for women s health, with significant spending for breast and cervical cancer screening.

As millions across the globe gasp for breath in today’s COVID world, a powerful new TV commercial featuring real patients and their families reminds us that lung disease can strike people from all walks of life, young and old.
The campaign was created by Queensland-based Bordertown Films and Oyo Studio for the Lung Foundation Australia and captures genuine, emotive moments with fathers, mothers, teenagers, young children and their families.
Michel Itel, who features in the television commercial with his wife and daughters, was just 42 when he was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer.

Thinkerbell has been shortlisted for 10 awards across nine categories for this year’s Mumbrella CommsCon Awards.
The nods included Best Use of Owned Media, Launch or Relaunch Campaign of the Year, Best Use of Technology in a Campaign, Large PR Agency of the Year, and two nominations for Best PR-led Brand Partnership Campaign.
Also starring in the shortlist was Eleven, earning four nominations including PR-led Content Creation, Best PR-led Brand Partnership Campaign, and PR Agency of the Year – Large, a category it won in 2020. Icon Agency also scored four nominations, earning two in the Best Government Sponsored Campaign category, as well as a nod for Sophia Pellatt as PR Professional of the Year. Also receiving four nominations was We Are Different, including Best B2C Campaign, Best Campaign with a Small Budget and PR Agency of the Year (Boutique).
