Applications are available for the Peg Brodrick Memorial Scholarship. Brodrick served the Worthington Health Center for many years as a staff nurse.
Anyone of any age who plans to further their secondary education in a health-related field is eligible to apply. Applicants must live in the Gateway Regional School District or a hilltown served by the Worthington or Huntington health centers.
Applicants can apply more than once.
Applications are available in the guidance offices at Gateway Regional High School, Huntington; Wahconah Regional High School, Dalton; Hampshire Regional High School, Westhampton; and Smith s Vocational School, Northampton, as well as the Worthington and Huntington health centers.

HUNTINGTON – Kristen Smidy, the principal of Hampshire Regional High School, has agreed to a contract with the Gateway Regional School District to be its next superintendent.
“I am ready for this next step,” said Smidy. “I feel really honored that they selected me.”
Smidy, who also serves as the principal for Hampshire Regional’s middle school, will officially start in the new job on Aug. 1 with her last day at Hampshire Regional on July 31.
“I hope to provide great support for the new principal coming in,” Smidy, 37, said. “My work is definitely not done.”

The Hilltown Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Council invites the community to a virtual Parent Cafe at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, via Zoom.
The event offers an opportunity to share stories, learn about local resources and strategies to stay sane during this time.
This program is a collaboration of Hilltown Community Health Centers Family Support program, the Behavioral Health Network, New England Farmworkers, the Gateway Regional School District, and It Takes A Village.

HUNTINGTON Four finalists have been named in the search for the next superintendent for the Gateway Regional School District.
The finalists include Hampshire Regional High School Principal Kristen Smidy and Gateway Regional School District Pupil Services Director Kurt Garivaltis, as well as Battenkill Valley (Arlington, Vermont) Supervisory Union Superintendent William Bazyk and East Longmeadow High School Principal Gina Flanagan.
The finalists were selected by the Superintendent Search Subcommittee of the Gateway Regional District School Committee.
