UTEP sells out of plants for FloraFEST
EL PASO, Texas - An overwhelming demand for plants at Saturday s FloraFEST led to an early end to the weekend event.
According to the event website, Sunday s event was canceled because organizers sold out of all their plants. We bring in a bunch of native and native adaptive plants to sell to the community, said Kevin Floyd, a botanical curator with the Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens. It s a really great event.
He said UTEP planned to sell between 1,500 and 2,000 plants on Saturday, including red yuccas, prickly pear cacti and cone flowers.
