High Court extends two-week time for Dispur to respond on Non-Covid Certificate for Patients

STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: Non-Covid Certificate for Patients in Assam: The Gauhati High Court has granted two more weeks for the State government to clarify the ground reality regarding the insistence on non-COVID certificate for admission of patients into various hospitals across the State. In a PIL (48/2020) CLP (Congress Legislature Party) leader Debabrata Saikia brought to the notice of the High Court regarding the refusal of some hospitals across the State to entertain urgent admissions of many critically ill patients due to non-production of COVID negative medical certificate. On behalf of the petitioner, his counsel Syed Burhanur Rahman argued that a notice had been already issued to the State Government in the instant matter, but no affidavit was filed by it.
